Sing for me
I never intended to turn this page into a music blog. I could never compete with folks like Fluxblog and Large-Hearted Boy anyway. But here we are, with almost the entire page taken up with music. It's just that every now and then, I end up feeling almost overwhelmed by how much good, interesting music there is. The internet has everything to do with this. I'm always reading and downloading and then obsessing over hearing everything great. This is where I am these days.
LCD Soundsystem, "Daft Punk Is Playing In My House"
This is one of the most irritating songs I've ever heard. The way he ends every line with an obviously-stylized "unh", the lo-fi, incessant beat...it's incredibly annoying. And I love it. I can't get it out of my head, and every time I start it back up again, it gets me excited. And bugs me. And rocks me. And makes me have to be careful not to dance in the middle of the Metro car.
Two other random thoughts on this song: The guitar riff keeps reminding me of the chorus melody in Nick Cave's "Do You Love Me", and I do really love the fan concept of this song, that his favorite band is coming to play at his house.
Have a good weekend, areseven readers, whether or not you're celebrating Easter. On Sunday afternoon, think of me eating a massive Greek Easter meal. I can't wait.

Hm. I'm having a really hard time getting past the "unh".
Yeah, isn't it irritating? There's not many good reasons to like this song. I just listen to it over and over because I can't get it out of my head.
LCD Soundsystem was featured music on the O.C. last night. Reid you are so southern cal!
