I wish I could complain more about the rich
I think that the (unnecessarily) hard work that I put into the 2005 mix has held it's headline position for long enough to be fully appreciated. I was all set to kick this page back into the daily routine, but the work load is keeping me from writing a long post on the decidedly non-musical subject on my mind today, so it'll just have to wait until tomorrow.
I will say that in my obsessive statwatching of the visitors to this site, I've noticed that the days where I don't post get just as much if not more attention than the days where I do post. I'm sure that, like everything else in life, this is pure coincidence, but the part of me that craves validation has a little fantasy where the appreciation level goes up on the days I don't post because, as you discuss in your Are Seven Admiration Society meetings, "you have to pay attention to what he doesn't write. It's the space he leaves behind where his genius lies."
Please don't tell me otherwise.

You know very well that you totally skew those stats by posting on a Saturday.
BTW, the ASAS blog ran a pool for people to guess what incredibly exciting activity has kept you away from posting this week. I'm $200 richer if you've been herding polar bears across the arctic.
Oooh! You were so close, Scott! I was herding polar bears, but it was across Arkansas. Kiss that $200 goodbye.
Man, our Nashville Chapter of ASAS Meeting is gonna be so boring tonight - we really ended the meeting just staring at each other last night since we didn't have anything to talk about after fully discussing the mix on Monday and Tuesday night.
Hmmm, maybe we shouldn't meet every night.
Oh, Doug. The Nashville Chapter has come a long way since the '70's. Legend has it that the Nashville ASAS meetings were overflowing with Jack Daniels, cocaine and mind-blowing performances of the type of funk and soul that the chapter was famous for. And now you just stare at each other?! That's just tragic.
Yeah, it's kinda sad - we're sad. BTW, we did decide that the Lucksmiths song is our absolute favorite on the mix, because we can't stop listening to it.
I might not comment all of the time, but I do like to check up and see what's going on in your mind.
