Wait a minute
I never got the hysterical drooling over Girl Talk's Night Ripper album. It's a blast, sure, and it's like a thousand mashups rolled into one. It's definitely fun to play "spot the sample" and you have a new challenge about every 15 seconds or so. But "amazing"? I suppose it could be considered amazing in the way a really good jukebox can be amazing, but I didn't really find it more than interesting.
But thanks to my ingenious "2006 Radio" playlist, one of the songs that I had rated kept popping up. It's called "Hold Up" (go listen), and it's been haunting me for the last 5 days. I wake up in the morning with the chopped up bits of "Where Is My Mind" going through my head, and I dance (dangerous I know) in the shower to the "Hold up, wait a minute" part. It's addictive.
I found a list of some of the samples:
* 0:00 Mariah Carey - "It's Like That"...but there seems to be some missing. Where does the "Hold up, wait a minute" vocal come from? And what's the fuzz-bass song that's below "Laffy Taffy"? Can anyone help me out? Anyone? Please?
* 0:00 James Taylor - "Your Smiling Face"
* 0:12 Ludacris - "Number One Spot"
* 0:21 50 Cent - "In Da Club"
* 0:24 Timbaland - "Indian Flute"
* 0:32 Pixies - "Where Is My Mind?"
* 0:39 Young Gunz - "Can't Stop, Won't Stop"
* 0:43 Nas, Puff Daddy - "Hate Me Now"
* 1:46 D4L - "Laffy Taffy"
* 2:08 Buckwheat Boyz - "Peanut Butter Jelly Time"
* 2:28 Weezer - "Say It Ain't So"
Here's some more question marks in case that wasn't enough: ????????
