Then this heartache'll get chased away

I like to think that I gave up my music snobbery around the turn of the century. There wasn't one defining moment. I just finally came to peace with the fact that different people have different lives, pasts, paths and moments that cause them to like different things. I stopped getting annoyed that people liked stuff I didn't and didn't see the appeal in stuff I thought was genius.

But let me just make one exception real quick:

If you do not like the new Spoon album, your soul is corrupt. Somehow, gremlins have gotten in and pulled out all the connectors between music and happiness. You should consider listening only to new age and smooth jazz, because it's clear that music with soul, feeling and creativity will not make sense to you.

Put another way, if you do not like the new Spoon album, I am fascinated by you. I want to know what life directions you took to end up in such a bitter and horrible place, unable to let this light lift you up. I want to know who it was that hurt you so badly and why it's killed your musical taste.

Put another way, not liking the new Spoon album is like not liking pizza.

Wow, that's one of the worst songs I've heard in a long time. You've ruined my entire week by exposing me to it.

Also, I know this is off topic, but I just want to say that George W. Bush will go down in history as the greatest leader the world has ever seen.

Go Mets.

I read this and then on the way home there was a review on NPR of the album. The reviewer thought it was their best. I thought it was an interesting coincidence.

Loved it! I have learned not to question certain things in life...one being your taste in music. (the other being police in Mexico)

I've been digging this song lately...what do you think?

Hope You're Happy Now by The Sounds

Pretty bitchy but it reminds me of Joan Jett, always a good thing.

Hope you're first day rocked!!!

But seriously, look here, supporting Spoon = supporting robots, and I just can't be a party to that.
