What is it with Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah"? That song has been everywhere lately. Two movies in a row I watched from Netflix recently had it in their soundtracks (Lord of War and Saint Ralph). Then I was watching an old episode of The West Wing and there it was again. Now you're putting it on a mix CD for your mom. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song and all...just weird that it's been showing up so much lately.

I love that you gave your mother "My Man is a Mean Man."

Scott, I don't know what it is. I haven't heard it in any of those places. It got back in my head thanks the my sister's iPod serving it up on a trip back to NC recently. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Cube, that's pretty funny, but it has nothing to do with it. My Dad is actually a really nice guy. I put that song on her mix because, like all the other songs on there, it's TOTALLY AWESOME. It's in the jukebox so you can listen to it and revel it its total awesomeness.

"Halleleujah" was also on season one, episode two of The O.C. Marissa put it on a mix tape for Ryan and they listened to it surrounded by candles in the abandoned house and then Marissa's boyfriend and his waterpolo teammates came over and beat Ryan to near death and knocked over the candles and burned down the whole place. It's a great song.

I've always felt that "Hallelujah" is one of the best songs to be beaten to near death to.
