Either the best or the worst thing in the world

I really didn't want to like the Arctic Monkeys. They had a stupid name and, at first listen, the music sounded like exactly the same guitar rock that the British keep coughing up and then pronouncing The Greatest Thing Ever.

But a funny thing happened on my way to register my hate: I bought the album in a surrender after a botched attempt to download it for free. And I liked it. Against my better judgment, I liked it a lot. "Boring guitar rock" became "the kind of R!O!C!K! that I haven't heard in a while, YEAH!", and the next thing I knew I was restarting the songs like "A Certain Romance" over and over.

Of course, I've learned enough in my years of sudden musical excitements to know that the novelty will probably wear off. But for now...I'm really enjoying it. My musical logic is bound and gagged and struggling to say something, but it's just going to have wait a little while to be freed.
