Woke up this morning...
While many of you may visit this page and tolerate the random thoughts and musical notes that I'll post, there's no secret of the real appeal of this blog: the cutting edge TV and entertainment news, giving you the first word on what's hot and what's worthwhile. Name anyone who gets there before me. You can't! You can't do it!
It's from my lofty perch as "Mr. Entertainment" that I'm happy to give you a tip about an under-the-radar show that I've just discovered and can get you in the know. It's called The Sopranos, and it's apparently been around a while, but nobody's talking about it! It's an edgy show about mob life, and it's incredible that it hasn't been discovered by a larger public, but now that I'm on the bandwagon (hell, I'm building the bandwagon), it's sure to explode. Take a tip from me, and when everyone else around you starts talking about it, you'll be wayyyy ahead of them.

Translation if it wasn't clear: I'm just now getting around to watching The Sopranos. I knew I was a late to the game, but it really hit home just how late when I see the WTC in the opening credits of season 1, episode 1. Anyway, I loved it. I should be all caught up to the current season around 2011, so don't go spoiling anything.
What's opera got to do with the mob?? ;) I'm a fan of the show, but I came in somewhere around season 3, or possibly even 4. One of these days I'm gonna watch from the beginning. The current season has been great, though I've already missed two episodes.
I'll try not to give too much away, but here's a teaser as you start to watch from the beginning: someone gets whacked.
Great. Thanks, Christian. It's totally ruined now. There's no way I can feel any sort of tension or anticipation now that I know that it all leads up to the current season being "great". Thanks a lot, pal.
well, here's a twist: i'm not hot about the new season...but it's not bad (well, it started off slow). ah ha! my name is doug, and I've been a Sopranos watcher since season 2. Scott's right, someone does get whacked at some point.
Along the same lines, I bought a new book today (well, new paperback) that looks really interesting. I'm hoping other people will read it too so there'll be people to discuss it with. It's called The Da Vinci Code.
