Can We Just All Agree That #1

Today begins a new series that, like all the series here at Word Practice, will probably begin and end at one. But the ratings jump whenever we announce a new series, and we're getting a lot of pressure from the top brass to spice things up, so...whatever it takes.

Our new series will be devoted to a personal hope of mine that, one day, we'll be able to come together as a race, as a species, and agree on certain simple principles that make life better on everyone, but that not everyone can fully understand the importance and courtesy of, and so a little education is in order. This series will be called "Can We Just All Agree That".

#1: Can We Just All Agree That You Take The Damn Picture Or I'll Walk In Front Of It

I've taken pictures before, it's true. And sometimes, I have to take a picture of someone in front of something and there's lots of people around and folks keep getting in the shot. So I understand that it's something you have to do every now and then.

But can we just agree that when someone has stopped to keep from walking in front of your shot that you take the picture as quickly as possible? These people have stopped out of courtesy for you and your pic of Aunt Juniper in front of that cute little front garden on Mass Ave, so you need to just snap and let the people go by, NOT spend five minutes fumbling with the camera, trying different shots and angles while 58 people are trying not to get in your shot.

It's all I ask. It's not much. I'd like to teach the world to sing, etc.
