Between bed and the door

I've developed a serious problem: I can't get out the door. And no, it's not because I've been eating a lot of junk lately, so save it, smart ass.

It's because I'm getting easily distracted between getting out of bed and leaving for work. I know this may come as a shock to you that a person who is easily distracted even when sleeping is easily distracted when getting ready for work, but it's true; it happens; and it's getting worse.

This morning, I set my alarm the good-boy time: seven o'clock¹, and not only that, but I only snoozed it once, actually getting out of bed at 7:15. Then, I sat at the computer. Then, I re-started what I had been working on Sunday: agonizing over the final track-listing for my 2005 year-end mix. No one cares except me, but this is the document of my musical year: it must be perfect, and how can it be when I have to choose "Tribulations" over "Yeah" just for the sake of time? When I have to leave "Since K Got Over Me" off it completely? And a Beck song should be on there, but which one? The shorter one or the longer one? I wasn't in the shower until almost two hours later.

I think you can see my problem. I'm not really sure how to solve it. The only solution I can think of is "will power", and that just makes me laugh. Will power? Maybe it's great for superheroes named William, but for the rest of us shmoes, it don't enter into it.

Anyway, I'm not going to post anything today.

¹ The bad boy time is 8:00. That's when I've been out drinking.
